We’ve teamed up with Albam to offer one lucky reader the chance to win £500 to spend there to celebrate the opening of their new London store in Covent Garden on 11 May.
Albam have always taken inspiration from British landscapes, exuding hues naturally found in rural parts of the UK. The garden of iconic director and horticulturist Derek Jarman serves as inspiration for the brands first collection with Mr Porter, Albam Alternate. This landmark collection is available exclusively from the Henrietta Street store and online at Mr Porter and albam.com.
The inspiration for this collection has led the interior design of the store, where furniture in beach and oak sit with units reinforced by rebar. Decorative details such as stone white and arsenic green colourways sit alongside black parquet wood flooring to mimic the storm boards of Jarman’s beloved residence Prospect Cottage. A botanical installation of a mix of dried and potted plants is reminiscent of Jarman’s south coast beach garden, curated and installed by east London plant store Botany Shop.
To continue the theme, a selection of Brian Dowling’s striking botanical photograms will also be able to view in store until 31 May. He’s a legend within the realms of dark room processing and fashion photography.
