Half-price lunch until Feb 3 (weekdays)
About 18 months ago, it seemed like Peruvian food stopped being cool due to saturation. Then, precisely because it stopped being cool, it became cool again. London! So here we are with Pachamama’s sister restaurant, now serving Peruvian coastal delights for weekday lunch.
Free lunch every 15 minutes (12pm-5pm), until Friday
Buns Of Steel looks like a gym. But here’s the thing… It’s actually a GBK! What larks! The staff in the burger pop-up will give out a free lunch to a customer at random every 15 minutes.
50% off food (walk-ins only) until Sat
Your man who launched Sardine to thundering applause, Stevie Parle, bequeaths us an Italian restaurant. Expect many quivering Instagram hands hovering over the fruits of the fresh pasta machine and wood-fired grill.
Half-price half-chickens, Mon-Thurs (5-7pm)
Spare a thought for ol’ Rudie’s. While The Pengest Munch is inspiring a naff fried chicken revival, Rudie’s is still there, doing its thing, serving that ace jerk. And you know in your heart it’s better than that Morley’s you go to on four-pint Nights Of Shame.
Free cheeseburgers (11.30am-9pm), Jan 23
Ah, the indoors… Great place, great vibes. The walls, the flooring, the shelves. Street-food titan Bleecker is getting in on the mayhem by launching its first venture inside with an outrageously generous cheeseburger offer, and Kernel Brewery on tap.
Any burger for £5, Jan 16-18
As of today, Patty & Bun’s London Fields site is gone. Gone and, yes, totally forgotten, because this one is bigger, has an expanded menu and should absolutely be the new place where you self-censor conversation in case strangers on the communal tables are listening and judging.
Nine signature dishes, each priced 99p, Jan 16
We’re now six days from Blue Monday, that great wail of communal misery that helps no one. Wanna be forced to think about your sh*tty current circumstances? You got it, Jack! But riddle us this: just how bad can a day be if it holds the promise of Pad Thai and crabmeat fried rice for less than a quid?
Half-price food until Jan 15
An “all-day hangout” for those weekends when you feel like mooching some free Wi-Fi, sinking a few exotic craft beers and finally publishing that “Hodgson At Anfield: A Reappraisal” piece. Fuel yourself with some primo comfort food: burgers, NY deli-style sandwiches, spit-roast chicken and sticky Buffalo wings.
Half-price food until Jan 15 (8am-2.45pm)
Ah, the virtuous morning breakfast. The eggs, the spinach. The cleansing juice. The £22 outlay. The four Orange Kit-Kats you chain at 10.45am because you’re still so freaking hungry. This Turkish and Greek-influenced opening has a multi-course breakfast feast that’ll properly load you up with bready, cheesy, spicy small plates.
Half-price food until Jan 15 (walk-in places available for lunch and dinner)
Pitta breads might be 2017’s Big Thing, you know. Soon enough smashed avocado, 2016’s bae, will have nothing left but desperate 2am attention-seeking Snapchats. But it’s too late; you already ghosted it. We mention this nonsense as Bala Baya is majoring in pittas crammed with slow-cooked meats like braised lamb.
