Until Sun In a beanbag-heavy workspace, a man – his body almost certainly made entirely out of firm, good-quality cheese – stands up. “So you know we did London Cheese Town last year?”, he blurts to a field of nods. “Well how’s about Cheese Town… 2.0?” And thus it was so. Remarkable, really. There’ll be an obscene amount of artisan cheeses, inventive mac’n’cheese, halloumi wraps, poutine, grilled cheese sandwiches and more.
2. Arnie Sarner at GBK
Various sites. Red is blue, up is down. That’s right friend, forget what you know – GBK is doing a sandwich. The new special is a 6oz burger wedged between two slices of roasted onion loaf with mature cheddar.
3. Peanut Butter Pizza
Various sites. For all the “veganuary” heads out there, a special pizza from Four Hundred Rabbits: squash pesto, wood-roasted beets, chickpeas, crispy onions, celery, sultanas and… crunchy maple peanut butter.
Tobacco Dock, E1. Until Sat The final days for London’s only rooftop-skating ice rink before it shuts down for the year. Street food from Yiro, fondue, DJs, and the chance to practice your ice hockey shooting. New Year’s resolution: achieved!
5. Free Wings
2–4 Hoxton Square, N1. Tonight Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen are giving out 200 free chicken wings every Friday at 7pm to celebrate a new hip hop night. Sounds about right.
